About your PAT testing appointment
DRA PAT testing’s engineer will arrive at the time you have been quoted for your PAT Testing appointment; if he/she’s going to be late they will keep you informed.
When the engineer arrives if you can show him what there is to test, so he can do his risk assessment and give you any necessary guidance to minimise disruption to you.
- If there is anything that can’t be tested/turned off; show the engineer now so he knows/so you can discuss what to do.
- Our engineer will work systematically around your site/equipment in order to minimise your disruption and to get the job done efficiently and as swiftly as possible.
- The engineer will assess what equipment needs testing; all appliances will be inspected visually, repairs will be carried out if necessary and then appliances that need testing, will be.
- If you have microwave ovens, they will also be tested for micro-wave emissions leakage, and checked internally for rusting etc.
- If appliances can’t be repaired by us, or are beyond repair, they will fail and you’ll be advised of what to do with them – we don’t remove dangerous equipment, or cut plugs off, but clearly mark the appliance with prominent fail labels.
- On completion of the work the engineer will go over what has been done and advise of any actions needed by you.
- We will also discuss with you your requirements for retests – perhaps you already have a system in place, or prefer to follow our guidance. Either way, we’ll put you in our system and send you a reminder when your equipment needs testing again.
- Back at the office, the engineer will create the PAT Testing Certificate Report which will be sent to you as a PDF document by email. This is always done within 5 working days of the job completing, sometimes sooner, but if you need the report the same day let us know in advance (same day payment required).
- Also, once the job is complete we will issue the invoice, which should be paid on receipt although we will offer up to 30 days credit for commercial clients and 7 days for domestic.
- The engineer will ask you to post a review on Google, of his work – he’ll remind you when he sends the report. Reviews are of great importance to us, not only as feedback but it helps our online marketing, so we would really appreciate if you can do this review.
